Sponsored MASc/MSc or PhD (1 Position Available)

Students with strong leadership and research skills are sought to join our research group. The students would perform experimental and thermochemical studies on nuclear fuel materials. The positions need to be filled as soon as possible.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • For Master’s student applications: BASc or BSc in nuclear engineering, engineering physics, mechanical engineering, or chemical engineering is required.
  • For PhD student applications: MASc or MSc in nuclear engineering, engineering physics, mechanical engineering, or chemical engineering is required.
 
SKILLS, COMPETENCIES, AND ASSETS:
  • Ability to read and critically evaluate scientific literature to incorporate new approaches into his/her work.
  • Familiarity with the workings of general laboratory techniques.
  • Ability to work independently and as a research team member.
  • Strong technical writing ability in English.
  • Ability to contribute methods, analysis and illustrations to papers.
  • Effective verbal communications in English.  French language ability an asset.
  • Publication in at least one peer-reviewed journal an asset.
  • Comfortable with personal computers with experience using MS Office. Ability to use LABView, COMSOL, ThermoCalc, and/or FACTSage an asset.
  • Canadian Citizen or Canadian Permanent Resident an asset (please provide proof of citizenship).

Post-Doctorate Fellowship (1 Position Available)

 Post-Doctorate Fellow with strong leadership and research skills are sought to join our research group.

The Post-Doc would perform experimental and thermochemical studies on nuclear fuel materials.

The positions need to be filled by January 2018.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • PhD in nuclear engineering, engineering physics, mechanical engineering, material engineering, or chemical engineering is required.
  • Publication in at least one peer-reviewed journal.
